[Intel to Invest €5 Billion to Expand Irish Factory] Odaily Planet Daily News – Intel (INTC.O) will invest €5 billion (approximately $5.7 billion) to expand its factory in Ireland, aiming to reclaim its dominance in manufacturing amid the AI boom. In a statement, Intel announced that this investment will increase the capacity of its Leixlip campus on the outskirts of Dublin as part of the company's plan to boost production of data center processors. The expansion project will enhance the production capacity of products, including its flagship Xeon server processors, while advancing research and development activities. Intel Executive Vice President Naga Chandrasekaran stated in a statement that this move is also part of the plan to improve delivery capabilities for Intel's foundry business customers. Intel's foundry business, which manufactures chips for other tech companies, is a key component of the company's revitalization strategy aimed at strengthening competition with rivals like TSMC.
