The casino industry is trying to rig the house even more in their favor. They are hiring lobbyists like former NJ Gov Chris Christie to trash prediction markets. The State of Maryland has decided to use regulations to protect the casino industry. Prediction markets offering people the ability to put money on events (politics, sports, etc) is perceived as a threat to the casinos, especially sports betting.
