[Samsung Electronics Plans to Advance the Operation Timeline of Its First Yongin Chip Factory to 2029] According to Deep Tide TechFlow on July 12, citing Yonhap News Agency, industry insiders revealed on Sunday that Samsung Electronics is working to advance the operation timeline of its first semiconductor factory in the Yongin chip cluster to 2029, one to two years earlier than originally planned. 'Advancing the operation of the first factory will enable Samsung to respond more quickly to the rapidly growing global demand for AI chips,' an industry official stated. Additionally, Samsung announced last month that, as part of its mega project investment plan, it intends to invest 20.3 trillion won (approximately $1.35 trillion) in the Pyeongtaek and Yongin semiconductor clusters, as well as 40 trillion won to build two new chip factories in Gwangju, located 270 kilometers south of Seoul.
