[The U.S. Eases Export Restrictions on the UAE, Opening the Door for AI Chip Sales] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 11, the Trump administration plans to ease export restrictions on the UAE, clearing the way for its procurement of various advanced technologies, including commercial satellites and semiconductors used for artificial intelligence. In a notice set to be released next week, the U.S. Department of Commerce stated that the UAE now qualifies for more lenient treatment under U.S. export control laws. The Department of Commerce also mentioned that the UAE supports the U.S. position in the anti-Iraq war efforts. Easing export restrictions will enable UAE companies to proceed with plans to purchase advanced AI chips from NVIDIA, AMD, and Cerebras Systems. This agreement was reached more than a year ago between the U.S. and the UAE, stipulating that these companies would supply thousands of processors to G42, a UAE state-backed technology leader, for use in the region's newly constructed AI data centers.
