[Iran Condemns U.S. for Violating Memorandum of Understanding, Warns of Necessary Actions] According to Golden Finance, on July 8, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in the early hours of the day, condemning the U.S. for canceling its temporary measure to suspend sanctions on Iranian oil sales. The statement described this move as a blatant violation of the Iran-U.S. Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and warned that necessary actions would be taken in response. The statement pointed out that the U.S.'s actions blatantly violate Article 10 of the Iran-U.S. Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, and the U.S. should bear responsibility for the consequences. It further stated that shortly after the memorandum was signed by both parties, the U.S. announced the cancellation of the general license it issued on June 21, which authorized Iranian oil sales. This, the statement said, once again demonstrates that the U.S. government is untrustworthy. The statement also accused the U.S. of repeatedly "directly violating or violating through Israel's actions in Lebanon" the relevant provisions of the memorandum. It emphasized that since Iran signed the memorandum on June 18, it has made good-faith efforts to fulfill its commitments. However, the U.S. not only broke its promises but also made various excuses to justify its actions. The statement warned that Iran would take actions it deems necessary to safeguard its interests and national security. (Xinhua News Agency)
