[Musk Receives FTC Approval to Acquire Optical Module Startup Mesh Founded by Former SpaceX Engineers] According to Golden Finance, on June 27, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approved Elon Musk's acquisition of Mesh Optical Technologies Corporation on June 25 local time. Mesh Optical Technologies was founded by three former SpaceX engineers—Travis Brashears, Cameron Ramos, and Selena Groven-Harbury—who previously led the design of the Starlink satellite laser inter-satellite link system at SpaceX. The company emerged from stealth mode this February and completed a Series A funding round of over $50 million led by Thrive Capital. Mesh's core product is the Alpha C1 optical transceiver, which achieves a transmission rate of 1.6 Tbps. It is manufactured using flip-chip bonding technology and replaces traditional copper cables with optical signals for data transmission between servers and GPUs, significantly reducing latency and energy consumption.
