[Former Mobile Giant BlackBerry Has Transformed into a Software Layer Provider for AI and Robotics Ecosystems]
According to CoinDesk, BlackBerry, once renowned for its physical keyboard phones, has quietly transitioned into a key software layer provider for the "physical AI" and robotics ecosystem. Its QNX software framework is referred to as the "never-crash" neural system for autonomous machines, offering a secure, reliable, and deterministic real-time operating system for smart cars and warehouse robots to chip manufacturers like Nvidia and AMD. BlackBerry CEO John Giamatteo stated during the earnings call that QNX technology is deterministic and safety-certified, making it extremely difficult to replicate. Customers trust this technology in systems where failure is not an option. BlackBerry's stock surged nearly 23% on Thursday after the company reported earnings far exceeding expectations and raised its performance guidance.
