[OKX Plans to Jointly Acquire Approximately 20% Stake in Coinone with Korea Investment & Securities] According to Foresight News, citing Yonhap News Agency, Korea Investment & Securities is collaborating with OKX to advance a plan to acquire approximately 20% stake in Coinone, with each party intending to acquire around 20%. The investment will primarily be made through the issuance of new shares. This equity acquisition is mainly for financial investment purposes and is not expected to involve changes in management rights. However, industry insiders speculate that OKX may seek to participate in management in the future and gain substantial influence. If this happens, it would become the second case of a major foreign exchange attempting to control the management rights of a Korean native cryptocurrency exchange, following Binance's acquisition of Gopax. Currently, the major shareholders of Coinone are: The One Group holding 34.30%, Com2uS Holdings holding 21.95%, founder and CEO Cha Myung-hoon holding 19.14%, and Com2uS Plus holding 16.47%.
