I reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening Jamaica’s land administration system through the Land Administration Capacity Enhancement Project (LACEP), in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
For too many Jamaicans, land that has been occupied, farmed, and passed down through generations still lacks formal title, limiting access to financing, security, inheritance, and participation in the formal economy.
Through this initiative, backed by a grant of approximately J$1.42 billion (US$9 million) from KOICA, we will improve the systems, technologies, and institutional capacity needed to make land administration more efficient, transparent, and accessible for our people.
I thank the Government and people of the Republic of Korea and KOICA for their partnership as we continue strengthening the framework for land ownership and national development.(Andrew Holness)
