On August 21, 2025, Matrixport Group's leading real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform in Asia, Matrixdock, announced the successful on-chain deployment of its gold token XAUm on the Sui network. This marks the first successful deployment of XAUm on a non-EVM compatible chain, representing a leap forward in the technical architecture and supporting network scale of XAUm. The Sui Foundation will also conduct a strategic reserve for XAUm, demonstrating its recognition of the project and further highlighting the strategic position of tokenized gold in the on-chain asset portfolio of the Web3 era.
XAUm is the first gold token asset in the RWA tokenization track on the Sui network. With the on-chain deployment of XAUm and its full integration with the on-chain ecosystem, users in the Sui ecosystem can easily access XAUm and efficiently interact within the on-chain ecosystem. Currently, XAUm has partnered with the underlying infrastructure on the Sui network, with Pyth Network providing exclusive price feeds for XAUm on the Sui network, and Slush also launching XAUm to provide a smooth protocol interaction experience for on-chain participants. At the same time, the collaboration between XAUm and mainstream DeFi protocols on the Sui network has entered the integration phase, with Momentum, Navi, AlphaLend, Alphafi, and Nodo all set to complete XAUm integration, enriching XAUm's DeFi applications on the Sui network.
As a network built on the Move programming language, the Sui network has become a Layer 1 network that phenomenal DeFi protocols and RWA tokenization tracks are eager to deploy on, with an on-chain TVL exceeding $2 billion. Matrixdock chose to redevelop its code based on the Move language and deploy XAUm on the Sui network because of its full trust in the underlying design and technical architecture of the Sui network. Leveraging the Sui network's support for sub-second response times under high pressure and fully scalable infrastructure, RWA tokenized assets can achieve efficient and rapid on-chain circulation. The Sui Foundation has also designed a special "ecological incentive" for XAUm to strengthen the position of the gold token XAUm as an important participant in the diversified investment portfolio tools of the Sui network.
