According to an announcement released on Thursday, the startup Camp Network is set to launch its first public testnet after recently completing a $30 million Series A funding round. The K2 testnet will allow developers to utilize a Layer 1 blockchain specifically designed for IP management. According to the company, the project has already launched dozens of decentralized applications, which are expected to be rolled out as the mainnet launches later this year. The team stated in a statement, "Camp's ecosystem partners collectively have over 5 million users and creative works."

Camp positions itself as "the world's largest user-owned IP repository," joining the wave of crypto networks aimed at reshaping intellectual property and creator rights. Supporters believe that the blockchain's ability to track provenance and allocate rewards can create a fairer digital landscape.

In addition to the L1 network, Camp is also building a "rights-cleared training data" marketplace, allowing users to train AI systems using specific data corpora while providing compensation to data owners.

"Camp Network is not just a blockchain—it is the foundation for a fairer internet where creative works are protected, owned, and monetized transparently," the team stated. "Camp is capable of supporting any form of intellectual property, including art, music, film, data, and video, facilitating collaboration between human creativity and intelligent systems, all backed by verifiable provenance."

Camp has also launched the "Summit Series" events to engage users through a series of on-chain tasks that may offer future rewards.
