The industry-standard decentralized computing platform Chainlink recently announced that the company will hold its annual flagship conference SmartCon in Hong Kong, China at the end of October. Following the successful 2022 and 2023 SmartCon conferences in New York and Barcelona, this is the first time Chainlink will host SmartCon in Asia. The conference will be held at the Kerry Hotel, with a two-day Hacker House on October 28th and 29th, followed by an exciting agenda on multiple stages at the main venue on October 30th and 31st.

Integrating DeFi & TradFi

As Chainlink's flagship conference, SmartCon 2024 focuses on interpreting the integration of blockchain and traditional finance, bringing together leading DeFi protocols such as Aave and the world's largest financial institutions and market infrastructure such as Swift, Euroclear, and ANZ Bank. The audience is expected to be divided into 40% Web3, 40% capital markets, and 20% enterprise and blockchain researchers, to collectively explore hot topics in the industry such as tokenization of real-world assets, stablecoins, cross-chain interoperability, the intersection of artificial intelligence and blockchain, changes in the capital market lifecycle, and regional digital asset ecosystems.

Upgraded Guest Lineup

Last year's SmartCon in Barcelona attracted thousands of participants, including Mr. Edmond Lau, Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong SAR, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Mr. Terence Leung, Head of Financial Services and FinTech at InvestHK, and Qian Jiang, Managing Director of Capital Markets and Digital Assets at Swift.
