The South African cryptocurrency trading platform Luno announced on July 17 that it will use Fireblocks’ enterprise-grade digital asset transfer platform to enable fast digital asset transactions. According to Luno, the integration with Fireblocks Network Link—a platform for developing apps and managing digital assets—allows users to perform transactions without having to log into their accounts every time.
Additionally, the integration connects Luno users to more than 1,800 liquidity partners, trading platforms, and counterparties once they are onboarded as business customers. Aleks Andjelopolj, Luno’s general manager for retail and institutional products, commented on the integration.
“By leveraging Fireblocks, Luno has taken a significant step towards greater institutional adoption. Customers can instantly access Luno’s services via Luno’s API and the Fireblocks Network Link integration.”
Andjelopolj suggested that leveraging Fireblocks means Luno users will experience the same immediate transaction settlement enjoyed by customers of the same bank. Simultaneously, the integration enables Luno to maintain control over how users experience its app and allows customers to leverage crypto rails for cost-effective yet compliant transactions.
Meanwhile, a report states that Luno will retain full control and manage user permissions necessary to access its services.
