On July 15, former U.S. President Trump announced at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that James David Vance, a federal senator from Ohio, will be his running mate for the 2024 presidential election.

Vance, who will turn 40 in August, presents a sharp contrast to the 78-year-old Trump and 81-year-old Biden. If Trump takes office, Vance will become the third youngest vice president in history.
