RSIC
In this round of Bitcoin NFT market, the performance of RSIC is attracting huge attention to the concept of "Runes" of Bitcoin (Ordinals), which has also led to a wave of emerging Bitcoin NFT projects based on the concept of "Runes". With the distribution of Runestone just around the corner, the date of the launch of the "Runes" protocol (Bitcoin halving) is getting closer and closer. The "Runes" protocol, an official FT protocol and its concept project of Ordinals, is receiving increasing attention.
Unlike the previous inscription bull market, the hot projects of "Runes" in this round of Bitcoin market appear in the form of Bitcoin NFT (small pictures). This is actually reasonable because the "Runes" protocol has not been officially launched yet, so there cannot be "Runes" Tokens in a real sense. The current "Runes" concept small pictures are actually "air calculators" - although they have different gameplay, they are actually "scoring" from the beginning of the project issuance, and the corresponding Tokens will be issued and airdropped based on the "scoring" results after the "Runes" protocol is officially launched.
After understanding this, you will probably also realize the risks currently existing in the "Runes" concept small pictures. First of all, the final interpretation of the "Runes" protocol lies in the hands of the official Ordinals protocol, especially Casey himself has emphasized in a tweet that the first 10 "Runes" Tokens may be "hard-coded", which means they will not be open for deployment but directly written in the code. These first 10 "Runes" Tokens will all be fairly open for minting, and there will be no pre-mining/pre-allocation, and so on.
In addition, the project parties of the "Runes" concept small pictures may also end up not deploying or airdropping "Runes" Tokens to their holders. These are all risks that need to be noted.
Next, here is the inventory of "Runes" concept small picture projects brought to you by the editor.
RSIC
On January 22, the "Rune Miner" RSIC was quietly airdropped to a group of Bitcoin NFT players. And one of the biggest beneficiaries of this airdrop was the NodeMonkes holders. The active addresses holding NodeMonkes even received up to 5 RSIC airdrops.
The opening price of RSIC basically exceeded 0.01 Bitcoin, and two days later it quickly rose to 0.05 Bitcoin, then fell back to 0.03 Bitcoin and remained stable. In February, RSIC basically rose all the way, peaking at over 0.1 Bitcoin, until it gradually fell back to almost the same level as before. The current floor price is around 0.076 Bitcoin.
RSIC not only initiated a wave of "Runes" projects, but also opened up the "Ren Du Er Mai" of NodeMonkes. The "shovel" effect of NodeMonkes was activated and quickly became the "strongest shovel" in the Bitcoin NFT projects.
Who does RSIC come from? Here we need to mention the concept of "Rocktoshi series". Because the funding sources of the engraved Ord Rocks (a very ancient Ordinals project, similar to Ether Rocks on Ethereum) and RSIC point to the same address - bc1pce53d78cuyw4fkuhh95ppc8h8v4wjc00nqulj2gff2474qg0xyns9krcq5. In addition, since NodeMonkes is the biggest beneficiary of RSIC airdrop, many people within the Ordinals ecosystem believe that Rocktoshi is the behind-the-scenes operator of the three projects: Ord Rocks, NodeMonkes, and RSIC.
Several points to note about RSIC:
- The shares already "activated" (transferred once) by RSIC will not be transferred to you with your purchase.
- 10% of the future "Runes" Token shares will belong to the project party.
- If you hold RSIC BOOST under the "activated" RSIC address at the same time, the mining rate will double, from 21 per block to 42. RSIC BOOST is unlimited, can be minted on Luminex, and can also be purchased directly on the secondary market.
Runestone
There is an interesting analogy that compares Runestone to the "$SATS" of "Runes". The total supply of this project is very large, with more than 112,000 whitelist addresses eligible for airdrop. The rules of the whitelist are also fair and transparent. At block height 826600, addresses holding 3 inscriptions will receive the airdrop (text and JSON types of inscriptions do not count, you can check here if you are eligible for the Runestone airdrop).
Runestone is led by the well-known Ordinals V@LeonidasNFT, who is also the founder of ord.io. As an Ordinals browser, ord.io is interesting because it has become the "liver and white holy land" of Ordinals. Now, the cold start of many projects is to let players go to ord.io to like their inscriptions and leave their addresses in the comments.
Airdrops cost money, and with over 110,000, it costs a lot of money, which is a very real problem. Runestone's funding comes entirely from donations, raising 2.25 Bitcoin. In addition, on March 9, the black 3D "Rune Stone" in the picture was successfully auctioned for 8 BTC, so the funding for the airdrop is not only completely secure, but also adds a solid insurance for the fairness of Runestone.
Although the quantity of this "Rune Stone" small picture is large, like RSIC, it is also an "airdrop voucher", and Token airdrops will be carried out after the "Runes" protocol is officially launched.
The Rune Guardians
The gameplay design idea is the same as the name of this "Guardian", emphasizing "perseverance". Unlike RSIC, the already mined "Runes" Token shares are bound to the small pictures, and if sold, they will not receive any Token airdrops when the "Runes" protocol is launched.
10,000 The Rune Guardians will share a total of 100 billion "Runes" Tokens in the future. Different attributes have different mining bonuses, which can be filtered through Magic Eden, and refer to the attribute gain table in the image:
You can also view the accumulated "Runes" Token quantity of a single The Rune Guardian inscription in the Ordinals browser by clicking on the picture:
Another interesting point about this project is that it will "evolve" into a true PFP series when the halving occurs.
Rune Mania Miner
This is a project that airdropped to RSIC BOOST holders mentioned in the previous article. The airdrop has been completed, with a total of 3800, of which 3547 were airdropped to RSIC BOOST holders, and the project party reserved 253.
The mining bonus rules of this project are relatively complex. If you want to purchase, it is recommended to check the bonus situation through the official website's dashboard by entering the inscription ID.
In addition, the project party of this project will not reserve any future "Runes" Token shares and will distribute them all to Rune Mania Miner holders. The total supply of "Runes" Tokens has not been disclosed and will be known after the halving.
Runic Miner
This is a project by Node Apes. It is a CBRC-20 project with a total of 10,000, and each Node Apes comes with 1000 $CYBD CBRC-20 Tokens and 1 Runic Miner when minted. This project really makes me sigh, it's really impressive how they managed to simulate this. Node Apes really went all out for this hot spot…
Because it is associated with the Node Apes project, the rule and concept of Runic Miner is basically to let people "take the whole package" - Node Apes + $CYBD + Runic Miner together for the maximum bonus. The specific rules can be seen in the image below:
ORANGE & ORANGE ROYAL TOMB
I think this project is a relatively underrated "Runes" concept project because it is backed by OG artist @XCPinata, who has been active in the Bitcoin ecosystem since 2014.
Let's start with the ORANGE series. The rules are very simple. There are 5 types of "props" such as gems, swords, etc. No matter which one you collect, or how many, you will receive "Runes" Tokens in the future. However, collecting all 5 different "props" will result in additional rewards in the future, but the specifics have not been disclosed.
Unlike other projects, the ORANGE series introduced a "monster" called "Hemi" at the beginning, and players need to transfer "gems" to the Satoshi address to "defeat" it. Players participating in this burning activity will receive more "Runes" Tokens in the future.
ORANGE ROYAL TOMB was released on March 6 at a price of 0.001 Bitcoin, with a total of 314. Holders of this series will also receive "Runes" Tokens in the future.
@XCPinata is probably the first person to introduce the combination of art and the "Runes" concept, whether it's introducing the burning bonus through "defeating Hemi" or the multiple tweets leading up to the release of ORANGE ROYAL TOMB. It can be said that it is a unique project in the "Runes" projects that is willing to operate in a "storytelling, playful" way.
Bitcarbon
Bitcarbon is an even more unique existence than ORANGE. This project has not been issued yet, and I really struggled to explain this project in a simple way…
In simple terms, Bitcarbon is a 30-year gamble. If, after 30 years, the total harm of Bitcoin emissions is lower than it is now, you can redeem this "zero-coupon bond" based on "Runes". But if, on the contrary, the total harm of Bitcoin emissions is higher than it is now after 30 years, the "zero-coupon bond" will be worthless.
Is carbon emissions really harmful? It is not known yet, and attitudes towards this issue may change continuously over the next 30 years. The fluctuation of these attitudes is also the fluctuation of Bitcarbon prices. Pricing current actions based on future results actually turns Bitcoin and "Runes" into an automated casino…
A few words can only briefly summarize the gameplay of this project, which is not enough to touch on the author's extensive thoughts behind it… Interested friends can refer to the complete white paper.
Nothing Protocol
This project is done by @DHeavens_TC, the co-founder of Taproot Cows Universe, and it is both a generative art and a "Runes Miner" - holding it will not only yield future "Runes" Tokens, but the small picture will also change.
In addition, the project party has also created a Bitrunic language, aimed at achieving seamless translation between "Runes" and Latin letters, specifically for converting each letter in the English alphabet one-to-one into its corresponding "Runes" letter. The project's official account makes it look like a font that is difficult to read, and that is Bitrunic.
This project has not officially started mining yet, and it will start at block height 835000. Its dashboard is on the small picture, and when viewing the details of a single NFT on Magic Eden, clicking on its picture will show the current mining situation (which is still 0).
Runes Terminal
This project has not been issued yet, with a total of 5000, and it is Free Mint. It is not yet clear whether this PFP will be directly used as a "miner", but it seems likely.
This project is backed by a project called @runespad, which announced at the end of January that it is going to be a "Runes" Launchpad. Runespad has previously announced that it will have a native Token $RUNI.
RuneX
This project has been active for quite some time and is planning to be a "Runes" trading platform, but the official website now provides trading functions for some BRC-20, CBRC-20, Tap, and PIPE protocol Tokens.
Secret Weapon
Their "Rune Miner" seems to be called "Secret Weapon" according to the tweets and will be released soon. Last year, they issued a PFP called UNNAMED with a total of only 51. It was originally planned to be issued on PIPE, but it was finally engraved and listed on Magic Eden last week in the form of a regular inscription. This thing could only be traded OTC before, and it even sold for a new high of 0.75 Bitcoin on March 2nd before being listed on Magic Eden.
Each UNNAMED will receive 30882 "Runes" Tokens in the future, while the total supply of "Runes" Tokens for RuneX will be 21 million.
By the way, there is another project called @Rune_Pro that also claims to be a "Runes" trading platform but has not yet announced plans for a "miner". It's worth keeping an eye on, just in case they announce it one day.
BTC Slugs
This project is quite interesting to me because the first time I showed it to foreigners and the floor price surged to 0.02 Bitcoin, they were all like "wtf". But then when they saw the "Runes", they understood and were okay with it.
The "Runes" Token rules of this project are divided into two parts. First, it is related to the characteristics of these slugs, and slugs with the following characteristics will receive different amounts of "Runes" Tokens in the future. Of course, characteristic rewards do not stack. If a slug has multiple reward characteristics, only the highest one will be taken, and the extra will be evenly distributed to the unfortunate slugs without reward characteristics.
Additionally, they also have a BRC-20 Token $PERQ, and each $PERQ will receive 10 "Runes" Tokens in the future. With a total supply of 5 million $PERQ, this means that it will give a maximum of 50 million "Runes" Tokens to $PERQ holders, accounting for 23.8% of the planned total supply of "Runes" Tokens (210 million).
Rune Kingdom
This may be the first "Runes" project from Chinese individuals, backed by Bitcoin Knight @CKN_BIT, a well-known old project among Chinese Ordinals players.
10,000 Rune Dragons were airdropped to Bitcoin Knight holders and some other communities. The mining mechanism is somewhat similar to the Node Apes mentioned earlier. To mine more, it needs to be paired with Bitcoin Knight for a bonus, and the rarity of the Rune Dragon itself will also have some influence.
RuinChainX
This is also a project aiming to create a "Runes" market. Although the results of issuing OG cards on BRC-420 were not satisfactory, the project team is still active and has also announced the future "Runes" Token economic model:
Rune Zone
I'm not entirely sure if this project is related to mining "Runes" Tokens because the gameplay mentioned so far seems to be about competing for a "Runes" prize pool that includes the following prizes:
However, because this project's Twitter account has not posted many tweets yet, it's worth keeping an eye on for now to avoid missing out.
