The future of the entire chain game is bright with these eight Builder at the helm.

We don't yet live in a world dominated by artificial intelligence agents, so behind every game or infrastructure, there is a super brain builder (or perhaps many).
Today, we will take a look at eight people who are helping to drive the development of the entire chain game field and are worth paying attention to in 2024.
Let's get started!
Note: This is a subjective list! These are just my choices, and the Builders are not listed in any particular order. There are many other great Builders in this field, but I didn't have the opportunity to include them in this article.
Tax Cuts
Tax Cuts is one of the popular entire chain games: co-founder of Primodium.
Primodium is a chain MMO and factory simulator inspired by Factorio and built using MUD.
Your goal is to build a galactic empire in the game by accumulating resources and engaging in PVP battles with other players.
Tax Cuts and the team will release a new update v0.1 at some point in the coming weeks and are committed to the mainnet release (specific date to be determined).
The v0.1 and mainnet release are not only very exciting for Primates (fans of Primodium), but should also help bring new players into the field, while bringing explosive growth of interesting mods and extensions.
Sebasiten Guillemot
Sebasiten Guillemot is the co-founder of Paima Studios.
Paima is building a framework for developing cross-L2 chain games and is testing its technology through its flagship game Tarochi.
Tarochi is a chain RPG similar to Pokemon, where you can battle and collect NFT monsters.
The game recently minted Genesis Trainer NFT (a 10K NFT collection that allows you to speed up the game and get limited edition minting) in preparation for the release of Season 1, which will be released on February 15 and includes mobile support.
I expect Tarochi to receive a lot of attention in the coming months, and if it does, it will attract more teams to use the Paima Engine for Build.
Small Brain
Small Brain is the founder of Small Brain Games.
Small Brain is a series of chain game development companies with the goal of releasing a new game on the mainnet every six weeks. It has developed a variety of games, including Words3 (a PVP word-making game), Network States (a PVP strategy game), Drawtech (a financial drawing game), and more.
These games have some commonalities as they are easy to get started with, have unique mechanisms, and often give you the chance to win (or lose) ETH.
Small Brain jokes that he is developing a new game, and I look forward to what he can create in 2024 and beyond.
Amitt Mahajan
Amitt Mahajan is one of the co-founders of Farmville and is now the founder of Proof of Play.
Proof of Play is the studio behind Pirate Nation, a role-playing game where you can explore, battle, and craft NFT items.
Proof of Play is also developing infrastructure, including its own chain game engine, and raised a $33 million seed round led by a16z and Greenoaks in 2023.
The team recently announced the launch of PvP mode for Founder's Pirates (the flagship NFT series of the game), where they will be able to stake PGLD and compete with other players at sea.
PVP sounds fun, so I expect that with this new feature (and others) being rolled out to a wider audience, "Pirate Nation" will continue to grow in the coming months.
Kooshaza and Kooshaba
So far, we have introduced individual Builders, but now we will introduce a series of Builders.
Kooshaza and Kooshaba are brothers who have built Sky Strife on Lattice.
Sky Strife is an RTS game where you can compete in turn-based PVP matches with the goal of capturing the opponent's base while protecting your own base from attacks.
Sky Strife is built using MUD and is currently in the middle of Season 0.2, the third continuous game test on the Redstone Holesky testnet since November 2023.
The game is not only fun but also showcases the functionality of the Lattice infrastructure.
So, I will be participating and closely following what Kooshaza and Kooshaba are building as they prepare for the upcoming mainnet launch of Sky Strife.
Scott Sunarto
Scott Sunarto is the founder and CEO of Argus Labs.
Argus is the team behind World Engine, a sharded Rollup SDK that allows developers to create their own horizontally scalable L2 and is optimized for hosting chain games.
They also develop games using their own stack and have an in-house research lab.
In 2023, Argus raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Haun Ventures and launched "Dark Frontier," an independent remake of "The Dark Forest," and the first game built using World Engine.
I am very interested in learning how Scott and Argus compete with games like MUD, Dojo, Paima, and Curio in the "Engine Wars" to attract gamers.
Komorebi
Komorebi is the founder of AW House, an organization that organizes hacker houses globally, provides funding, and conducts research.
Komorebi also has a studio called Baratie, which launched RedSwap, the first DEX on Redstone, and recently re-released 1337, a game where you can try to land on the digital 1337 as a Frame on Farcaster.
The Komorebi Hacker House is scheduled to take place in ETH Denver from February 28 to March 4, which should be a great alpha source for emerging chain games.
I look forward to seeing the results of this and what else he creates through Baratie!
Keep an Eye on These Builders
Whether they are building games, infrastructure, or both, each of the eight Builders on this list is managing projects that are driving the entire chain game ecosystem forward.
They (and other talented Builders in the field) are worth paying attention to, so you can keep an eye on the dishes they are cooking up.
When chain games reach escape velocity, many of the games on this list are likely to receive the same attention as OG DeFi founders.
We don't know which chain games will become the "Uniswap, Aave, Synthetix, and Maker" of the field.
But we are confident that with these eight Builders at the helm, the future of entire chain games is bright.
