Recently, Musk said he’s going to make chips and memory, then used ChangXin’s production expansion to scare the market, praised Micron’s pricing, and tried to intimidate Samsung and SK Hynix.
Earlier, Apple also mentioned that rising memory prices forced them to increase the prices of their phones and computers.
These people seem to forget that the current memory shortage is caused by the collective price suppression during the previous downturn, which led to weak production expansion willingness, insufficient capacity, and the unexpected rapid development of AI.
The current prices actually reflect supply and demand, not malicious price hikes. Capacity relief isn’t something we’ll see in just one or two years.
With the upcoming memory and CPU production expansion, and the arrival of the reasoning era, we might see many new applications—just like the trending Little Prince game on Twitter recently.
As AI development on the edge side continues without restrictions, the cloud will need to expand its computing power to counter edge-side AI’s security attacks with greater computing power and stronger AI.
This is not the end; this is just the beginning.
I’ll continue holding Micron stock—won’t sell until it hits a new high.
