I've been trading stocks these past few months, and most of the time, I avoid the left side and only chase the right side (the success rate is super high because the big trend is in play). The problem with the left side is that if a stock doesn't perform well, you end up buying halfway up the hill. The right side, though, is where many people struggle to overcome the fear of chasing highs. After a pullback and bottoming out, the initial upward segment is a great buying opportunity.
That said, individual stocks still carry risks, and even certain sectors can be risky. You might end up chasing only to see it drop again, forcing you to cut losses. But the mainline ETFs are solid—if even the mainline ETFs start having issues, it’s probably a sign that the market needs a proper break.
