NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang urged G20 countries on Wednesday to accelerate the layout of artificial intelligence infrastructure, warning that excessive regulation on AI would leave nations falling behind. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is using this summit to promote a lightly regulated AI governance framework to various nations.

Huang stated at the G20 Tech Summit that NVIDIA will "invest nearly $1 trillion in U.S. infrastructure just this year," attributing this to the regulatory environment and energy policies in the U.S.

He compared AI to public infrastructure such as water and electricity, calling it "the greatest equalizer," and emphasized that "every country needs to build infrastructure to support its domestic economy."

This statement is significant for the market. NVIDIA predicted last week that its revenue growth for the next fiscal year will reach 70%, and the stock price recorded the largest single-day increase since April 2025 after the announcement. Huang's positive remarks at this summit further reinforced market expectations for continued expansion of global AI capital expenditures.

As of the time of writing, NVIDIA's stock rose over 4% during trading on Wednesday.

Lightly Regulated Framework Emerges, A Country's "Worst Outcome" is "Being Left Behind"

This summit is hosted by the United States, where officials from the Trump administration are actively promoting the G20 members to accept a set of AI governance guidelines known as the "Carolina Principles."

It is reported that the document clearly warns countries against creating separate regulatory bodies for AI, instead advocating for collaboration between the government and private enterprises to jointly test emerging technologies.

Huang further clarified his regulatory stance in a dialogue with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. He stated that the government should regulate based on "actual and specific harms," rather than "theoretical and hypothetical harms," and emphasized that product safety responsibility should rest with the companies rather than government officials.

"Technology is still in its formative stage," Huang said, "Every company must consciously take on the responsibility of safely developing technology."

He also warned that the "worst outcome" a country could face is "being left behind," and called on the public and policymakers not to let the fear of AI dominate public opinion but to focus on AI's potential to drive economic prosperity.

Tech Giants Unite to Accelerate Data Center Construction

Several tech executives collectively voiced their opinions at this two-day summit, pushing for unhindered development of AI. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk attended the event on Tuesday, accusing the EU's "extremely high" regulatory standards of stifling growth and calling for a hands-off approach to emerging business models.

Even Tom Brown, co-founder of Anthropic known for advocating AI safety rails, emphasized the importance of accelerating data center construction globally during his conversation with Howard Lutnick.

Brown told G20 representatives that as long as countries clear obstacles to building technological infrastructure, they can reap the AI dividends. He expressed that he "really liked" Trump's recent post on social media endorsing the data center project, calling it a source of prosperity.

"This is clearly the bottleneck for all our progress," Brown said, "We are facing severe shortages of electricity and labor, struggling to meet the demands of AI."
