PANews April 22 news, according to official news, Base announced that the first independent network upgrade "Base Azul" will be launched on the mainnet on May 13, 2026. Azul has been launched on the test network, aiming to enhance security, performance, and developer experience. Major updates include: activating a multi-proof system (combining TEE and ZK proofs) to advance Stage 2 decentralization, achieving withdrawals completed in as little as one day; integrating into a single high-performance client stack base-reth-node and base-consensus, reducing the number of empty blocks from about 200 per day to around 2, and sustaining a peak throughput of 5000 TPS multiple times; aligning with Ethereum's Osaka execution layer specifications. Base is also launching the Immunefi audit competition, with a prize pool of up to $250,000. Future upgrade plans include a performance upgrade at the end of June and a user experience upgrade at the end of August. Base will also launch the public development network Vibenet in mid-May.
