Oral reflections fall into politics, but in reality, they are laying out the future.

During a video appearance at the reunion of his former federal cost-cutting team, Musk predicted that the United States is at the beginning of a "great 12-year span," which will consist of President Trump's second term and subsequently two consecutive terms for Vance.
According to two attendees and another informed source, Musk made this prediction on November 22, when current and former members of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) were gathering in a tall building owned by Musk near SpaceX and Boring Co. facilities in Bastrop, Texas. Since the discussion was about a private event, these sources requested anonymity.
Although Musk's relationship with President Trump had briefly soured in June and was later repaired, the entrepreneur has established a strong personal friendship with the Vice President this year. Despite Musk stepping back from politics, if Vance runs in 2028 and Musk chooses to get involved, this tech mogul and his substantial political spending will become a powerful booster for Vance.
Informed sources stated that Musk connected to the reunion event via video from what appeared to be a dark and undisclosed location. He addressed about 150 current and former members of the Department of Government Efficiency team, as well as some family members who had flown in to attend the gathering.
As attendees enjoyed barbecue and Mexican grilled meat at a Thanksgiving-themed long table, Musk told the crowd that he chose not to attend in person because the news of the reunion had already been made public.
He stated, he believes he is one of the top assassination targets in the U.S., second only to President Trump and Vance. He had previously expressed similar concerns. During last year's Tesla shareholder conference call, he jokingly said he "might need to start exercising more" to reduce the risk of being assassinated.
However, Musk's appearance via video left some attendees, who had been looking forward to seeing him in person, feeling disappointed.
"Some people who brought their spouses felt embarrassed by the event's lack of excitement, especially since Musk did not show up," one informed source said.
Musk thanked the team for their sacrifices during their time in Washington, including giving up higher-paying jobs, enduring political backlash, and facing death threats.
In his characteristic stream-of-consciousness and sometimes slightly whimsical speaking style, Musk's topics ranged from concerns about domestic conflict to the Kardashev scale for measuring technological advancement of civilizations, and then to his vision of establishing colonies on Mars. He joked that missiles launched from Earth cannot quickly reach Mars, and even if launched, the six-month flight time would give settlers ample preparation time, which drew laughter from the audience.
Several of Musk's senior confidants who worked in the Department of Government Efficiency, including Steve Davis and Anthony Armstrong, attended the gathering. During the event, some members shared anecdotes about their experiences living on the sixth floor of the General Services Administration (GSA) building while executing Musk's cost-cutting directives.
In a recent interview, Musk reflected, “Overall, I find that when I get involved in politics, the outcomes are usually bad.”
However, this reunion was essentially about reconnecting with those who helped him achieve his political ambitions in Washington. And it is clear that his sights are already set on 2032.
