Let's briefly discuss OKX's X Launch event, how to earn points, and which point tier to aim for.

TLDR

  • Hold Category 1 tokens, mainly ETH/SOL/BNB public chain coins and stablecoins, to facilitate point accumulation.
  • Check the service fees on OKX DEX and choose trading pairs with a 0.85% fee rate for better point earnings.
  • Multi-account players should aim for Tier 2 (64U), while single-account players should aim for Tier 4 (256U), avoiding Tiers 7/8.

1/Three Activities of OKX Boost

X Launch: Earn points based on the holding/trading data from the past 15 days, sharing the token listing prize pool proportionally.

Giveaway: Complete deposit/social/interactivity tasks assigned by project parties to earn task rewards. Trading Competition: Periodic trading competitions for tokens, where top users share the prize pool. The core of OKX Boost is X Launch; we will briefly skip the other two.

2/X Launch Activity

The official will set a minimum threshold; only users who meet both conditions are eligible to participate in the Launch activity. The minimum standard is determined by the user's Boost trading volume and Boost balance over the past 15 days.

Boost Balance: The average daily balance of Category 1 tokens you hold in your OKX wallet.

Boost Trading Volume: Your average daily trading volume on OKX DEX on Solana/EVM-compatible chains, multiplied by a factor.

The prize pool consists of a fixed number of project tokens, distributed based on "your trading points/total trading points." Trading points are determined by Boost trading volume: 32U-1 point, 256U-4 points, 1024U-6 points… with a maximum of 4096U-8 points.

Essentially, it still revolves around increasing trading volume, but the key is which type of token to trade and which point tier to target.

3/Boost Balance

The Boost balance currently only considers the Category 1 tokens held in your wallet.

  • Category 1: Bitcoin/Ethereum, mainstream public chain coins (BNB/SOL/OKB, etc.), and stablecoins.
  • Category 2: Mainstream altcoins of projects/memes (AAVE/CRV/LINK/DOGE, etc.).
  • Other tokens: Any tokens that do not belong to Category 1 or 2 are classified as other tokens. This balance is snapshot every hour, using 24 snapshots to average the balance held that day, so you cannot deposit at 7 and withdraw at 8.

Considering the need to accumulate points later, holding Category 1 ETH/SOL/BNB and stablecoins will be more convenient.

4/Boost Trading Volume

Different trading pairs yield different multipliers for trading volume. A simple way to assess this is to look at the service fee rates charged during trading on OKX DEX.

  • If the fee is 0%, then that trade earns no points;
  • If the fee is 0.25%, then that trade only earns 0.25 times the Boost trading volume;
  • If the fee is 0.85%, then that trade earns a full 1 times the Boost trading volume;

Therefore, to achieve the same amount of Boost trading volume, trading pairs with a 0.85% service fee incur lower total fees.

Since the Boost balance only counts Category 1 tokens, you can trade "Category 1 - Other Tokens."

5/Earnings and Costs of Boosting X

The first phase of X Launch is $LINEA, with the current point total at 63308.53 and the number of eligible participants at 19347, resulting in an average of 3.27 points. The Linea prize pool contains 162022478 tokens, meaning each point can earn 2559 LINEA tokens, valued at approximately 0.03U pre-market, making "temporarily" one point worth 76U. From a cost-effectiveness perspective, the lower tiers of 32/64U are the best; in terms of absolute profit, the mid-tiers of 4/5/6 are the best; Tiers 7/8 are not worth pursuing.

Future prize pool earnings are expected to decrease, while the number of participants will increase (total points will rise), leading to a decline in earnings per point. Currently, one point is worth 76U, so if future point earnings are estimated at 10/20/30/40/50/60/70, the net profits for different tiers are roughly as shown in the chart (created by GPT). For multi-account players, Tier 2 (64U) is the best; for single-account players, Tier 4 (256U) offers manageable costs, lower risk, and relatively decent profits.
