Partner 1+1: How to Enter Web3? When and in what sector did you make your first pot of gold?
0xMoon: I was active on the internet as a "meme blogger" in my early years. I entered the crypto industry in April 2021 in a "magical" way. At that time, I had been unemployed for six months and was struggling financially. During a family trip, I came across a friend's screenshot of profits from Huobi, which sparked my interest. I joined a paid crypto community through a friend's recommendation and officially entered Web3. With a preliminary understanding of the industry and the tailwind of the 2021 bull market, I quickly got started. Before this, I had a brief encounter with Huobi in 2019 when Bitcoin was around $5,000, and I invested 100 yuan in Cardano (ADA), but I exited due to losses.
In my first month after entering the space (May 2021), I made a seven-figure return through a meme coin project. However, the following month, I almost lost that profit in another project. This led me to summarize a hard rule: never increase your position above the cost line, a principle I have not broken to this day.
Ted.Eth: I entered Web3 in 2021 through a friend's introduction. Between July and September of that year, I made my first pot of gold on the meme coin "Baby Doge." At that time, I was looking for projects through Twitter and Telegram communities and using on-chain data analysis to identify active projects. However, the subsequent bear market made me realize that money earned by luck could be lost due to a lack of risk management, so setting profit-taking and stop-loss levels is key to ensuring capital safety.
Partner 1+1: What sectors in Web3 are you currently focusing on? What channels can achieve profitability?
0xMoon: Recently, I have mainly profited through meme coin airdrops and strategic investments. The market in 2025 will be extremely challenging, which can be termed "hell mode." Small profits (ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars) are relatively easy to obtain, but replicating the millions in returns from 2021 is very difficult. The market is more stringent in filtering traders, unless one has extremely strong abilities, dares to place heavy bets, or is very lucky.
Currently, I am focusing on arbitrage, wealth management, and DeFi strategies, avoiding high-position dollar-cost averaging in mainstream coins, and prefer to buy when prices drop in what is traditionally considered a "bear market."
Ted.Eth: This year, I used on-chain data to identify early whale accumulation signals and entered the market when it was not widely noticed, seizing opportunities related to Trump-themed meme coins. Recently, I have been focusing on sectors like AI, GameFi, and SocialFi. In my view, Web3 has shifted from a retail-driven speculative phase to a stage dominated by institutions and increased regulation. The transparency of information has improved, reducing information asymmetry, but the market reacts faster, and the psychological pressure of holding positions is greater.
Partner 1+1: What advice do you have for new crypto users?
0xMoon: I advise newcomers to try more and make mistakes, participating in new narratives with small amounts of capital. Even with just $50-100, one might catch a big opportunity. Don't compare yourself with large capital players; small capital has the advantages of flexibility and lower pressure. Continuous learning and participation in new narratives are key.
Ted.Eth: You can use on-chain analysis tools to monitor market dynamics and reduce risks. Choose projects with low trading volumes but strong fundamentals, and patiently wait for a second launch. I recommend holding a diversified investment portfolio of 8-10 projects and setting a 20-30% stop-loss level to manage risk. Patience and data-driven decision-making are crucial.
Partner 1+1: How do you view the frequent interactions with Sun Ge?
0xMoon: Indeed, there are times when I deliberately consider whether my writing can attract Sun Ge to retweet, but I aim to provide value from an objective perspective. My first interaction with Sun Ge was when I was writing the "$HTX Consensus Diary," and he retweeted every piece, which was very exciting at the time. Personally, I believe Sun Ge possesses a unique advantage of "guts + marketing + luck," and I was one of the early ones to realize that "Sun Ge is a potential stock," which is why I frequently interact with him on social media.
Partner 1+1: What are your views and suggestions for the development of Huobi HTX?
0xMoon: In my opinion, Huobi HTX has done a great job with its products, and the recent upgrade of the app interface UI has significantly improved user experience. I suggest that Huobi HTX moderately increase the yield on wealth management products, such as the yield on dual-currency investment products, to compete with other exchanges.
Ted.Eth: Huobi HTX has a fast pace of new listings, high liquidity, and strong security, and the trading volume and activity design have also enhanced user engagement. I suggest integrating advanced data analysis tools to help users quickly assess hotspots and formulate risk management strategies, as well as increasing automated trading features to enhance user experience.
