Kaito is exploring a differentiated development path in the Web3 social field through its points mechanism and community operation strategy.

Recently, Kaito Yap has frequently appeared on Twitter, becoming a hot topic of discussion and even contention among many KOLs.

Kaito is an AI-based cryptocurrency data analysis platform that recently launched a product called "Yap to Earn." Simply put, it allows users to earn points by posting high-quality tweets. Users can earn Yap points through posting, interacting, and other means, and many anticipate that these points may eventually convert into project tokens.

More importantly, Kaito has established an AI scoring and selection mechanism specifically for crypto KOLs, allowing users to see the dynamic rankings of well-known crypto influencers.

It is important to note that Kaito Yap has two unique mechanisms:

First, it maintains mystery by not disclosing specific scoring standards and criteria, and there is no clear scoring guide. This black-box strategy has its advantages.

It preserves the project's sense of mystery, avoids complaints related to score calculations, reduces ineffective disputes, and encourages users to continuously explore and innovate, thereby somewhat preventing targeted score manipulation.

Second, everything is AI-driven. Kaito's official personnel only provide prompts to the AI, which then conducts scoring and selection.

Perhaps it’s “AI Help AI” (just kidding), as the top spot on the CT Yapper leaderboard has long been occupied by the crypto research AI AGENT Aixbt, showcasing content creation capabilities that surpass 99% of human users.

This scoring mechanism has its supporters and detractors; many crypto KOLs who previously focused on project reviews are now actively competing for points.

However, controversy and skepticism have also arisen.

Fundamental Issues vs. Algorithmic Discrimination

The perspective of the project side is that they favor products like this. Essentially, Kaito's product can be seen as a B2B marketing service.

Today, KOL marketing has become a must-have option for many crypto projects to conduct marketing, but the quality of KOLs varies widely, and traditional metrics like follower count and interaction volume fail to accurately reflect KOL value.

The interference of numerous bots and fake accounts complicates the information ecosystem, making it difficult for project parties to accurately assess the true influence of KOLs, leading to uncertain marketing resource effectiveness.

Providing a set of quantifiable KOL selection criteria for project parties is a groundbreaking attempt in Web3 marketing.

Some support this mechanism, believing that the emergence of Kaito Yap not only marks the birth of a points system but also represents a new direction for Web3 social media, where value orientation replaces traffic orientation, and professional creation triumphs over fast-food content. This helps to discover truly high-quality creators while also compelling the KOL community to enhance their professional standards, positively impacting the overall cryptocurrency information dissemination ecosystem.

At the same time, Kaito Yap faces skepticism from KOLs and retail investors.

Deep Tide TechFlow summarized the concerns into the following categories:

(1) Circle Effect: Formation of a "Core Circle" Monopolistic Closed Ecosystem

Kaito Yap's scoring is biased towards top KOLs, with core circles supporting each other, making it difficult for newcomers to break into high-scoring circles. Even if new creators produce high-quality content, they struggle to earn points comparable to major influencers, and more importantly, there is a lack of "circle interaction." Therefore, Kaito Yap is more of a game for big influencers, unrelated to ordinary people.

(2) Algorithmic Discrimination: Accusations of Discrimination Against Non-English Content

Some KOLs have reported that compared to English content, non-English content from crypto bloggers often receives lower scores, leading to an undervaluation of localized content.

Additionally, KOLs with significant institutional backgrounds receive greater weight compared to purely amateur accounts.

(3) Data Limitations

Currently, the reliance on publicly available Twitter data lacks community interaction data and overlooks the value of private traffic. For example, some KOLs who are very active in Telegram groups perform poorly in Yap scoring.

In response to the criticism that Kaito's algorithm discriminates against Chinese content, Kaito staff stated, “The AI trained with the same set of prompts believes that if your content is not solid, it is not solid. There may be errors, but it is fair to everyone. There is no automatic downgrading of Chinese content in the prompts. If you feel that the Chinese content is not performing well, then it is likely that the content itself is not effective.”

Despite some skepticism, in my view, Kaito is exploring a differentiated development path in the Web3 social field through its points mechanism and community operation strategy, which is a positive innovation worth encouraging. However, as a growing platform, Kaito still faces several issues that need to be considered and resolved:

  • How to expand the user base while maintaining professionalism and providing more opportunities for newcomers

  • The sustainability of the points mechanism

  • The ongoing cultivation of community atmosphere and user engagement

In the future, as the Web3 social field and AI continue to develop, the evolution direction of emerging platforms like Kaito is worth ongoing attention.

Finally, Deep Tide TechFlow has also summarized a set of strategies for the Kaito Yap points system based on the experiences of some KOLs on Twitter, for reference only.

(1) Principle: Anti-Spam Content

The official statement clearly indicates a resistance to spam content and volume manipulation. Repetitive, valueless posts will receive zero points.

In summary, quality is far more important than quantity.

(2) Focus on Hot Projects

Pay special attention to the projects on the Kaito panel:

  • Kaito;

  • Berachain;

  • Monad;

  • Xion;

  • Paradadex;

  • Eclipse;

Note: Simply mentioning these project names will not earn points; the key is to provide valuable analysis and insights.

(3) Quality of Interaction is Paramount

In addition to focusing on content publication, Kaito places special emphasis on content interaction, particularly interactions with high-quality accounts, such as receiving replies from influential users and genuine likes.

(4) Precise Interaction Strategy

Recommendations:

  • Follow and reply to major influencer accounts;

  • Participate in high-quality thematic discussions;

  • Engage in conversations under posts with high interaction volumes;

  • Maintain interaction with leaderboard users;

  • Balance interaction frequency with content quality;

(5) Cryptocurrency-Themed Orientation

Consistently publish cryptocurrency-related content, reasonably use cryptocurrency keywords, and prioritize discussions on hot projects.

(6) Participation in Referral Programs

Earn additional points by referring new users.
