The human brain consumes a large amount of cholesterol, and the cholesterol in the brain is produced independently.
Cholesterol is very important for the brain; to put it metaphorically, it is like the outer casing of the cables in your server room. Since cholesterol is the main material used to wrap the white matter (the brain's cables), a lack of cholesterol means that the outer casing of the brain's cables is gone, which naturally makes it easy to short-circuit - that is, Alzheimer's.
Cholesterol is also an important raw material for male hormones, which is why many men taking cholesterol-lowering medications experience erectile dysfunction 😂. Other side effects of cholesterol-lowering drugs include damage to mitochondria, which are the body's batteries; without them, muscles become weak - for example, even at a very low running speed, one still feels that leg soreness.
Moreover, an interesting fact is that the standard for high cholesterol has been continuously decreasing. Thirty years ago, when cholesterol medications were not well-developed, the standard was 300, then it was lowered to 240, and now it is 200.
Of course, saying this does not mean that higher cholesterol is better - it’s a smile curve. According to a study in South Korea, the risk of death is lowest at around 220 cholesterol, while 220 is currently classified as "high cholesterol" in hospitals.
This is why I support centralized procurement and traditional Chinese medicine. Since they are all deceiving people, it’s better to deceive less money. 😂
So, what health advice is there? The recommendation at the 22-minute mark of this video is to eat less or avoid: starch/sugar/seed oils.
