Andy, the host of the cryptocurrency show "The Rollup," cited Kaito AI data indicating that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has recently been in "battle mode," achieving the highest "KOL attention" in the past seven days at 1.69%, followed by Mert Mumtaz, CEO of Helius Labs, at 1.18%.

Vitalik responds to criticism of the Ethereum Foundation

Recently, Ethereum and the Ethereum Foundation have faced a lot of criticism, as the price of ETH has performed poorly this year. The market is dissatisfied with the Ethereum Foundation's frequent selling of ETH. In response, Vitalik Buterin recently wrote a lengthy post on the X platform defending the Ethereum Foundation's regular sales of ETH.

Vitalik Buterin explained that these sales by the Ethereum Foundation are used to pay fees to Ethereum developers and researchers, to maintain the PoS mechanism, allowing transactions to be completed within 30 seconds at low fees, while enabling privacy features through zero-knowledge proofs, all while keeping the network running continuously since 2016:

"Ethereum no longer issues 5 million ETH annually due to the PoW mechanism. Users now face very low fees when using Ethereum, and their transactions can be completed within 30 seconds, rather than 1-30 minutes (thanks to EIP-1559). Please show some respect."

When asked why the Ethereum Foundation does not stake all of its ETH holdings and use the staking rewards to cover expenses instead of directly selling ETH, Vitalik Buterin explained that the Ethereum Foundation wants to avoid being forced to make an "official choice" in the event of a controversial hard fork.

However, Vitalik Buterin stated that the Ethereum Foundation is exploring other ways to participate in staking, including issuing grants with staked ETH, which would allow grantees to control their withdrawal timing and retain rewards. He also mentioned considering delegating the Ethereum Foundation's staking responsibilities to other organizations.

As FUD sentiment around Ethereum has been spreading recently, Vitalik Buterin has been increasingly vocal on the X platform. He has been sharing insights and suggestions regarding Ethereum's technical roadmap, including his thoughts on the Merge, Surge, Scourge, Verge, and Purge phases, which could potentially impact Ethereum's future.
