In the world of cryptocurrency, meme coins are igniting an unprecedented wave of frenzy. These tokens, once regarded as "jokes," have now become the focal point of market speculation. Murad Mahmudov's speech at the TOKEN2049 conference marked a new peak for this trend. He boldly predicted that Bitcoin would reach $10 million and has been hailed as the new godfather of meme coins.
The Origin and Craze of Meme Coins
Meme coins are cryptocurrencies based on internet pop culture, characterized by humor, satire, and wit. They typically lack clear commercial applications and rely on the power of community. The names of meme coins often derive from internet slang, memes, and trending events, making them highly entertaining and topical.
Looking back over the past year, the meme coin market has experienced three significant fluctuations. The first was the Solana meme craze triggered by MYRO, SILLY, and WIF. This was followed by a second wave of excitement in March this year, sparked by the presale frenzy of BOME and SLERF. With the arrival of the bear market, altcoins generally performed poorly, while meme trading tools like Pump.Fun, through infrastructure upgrades, further propelled the meme craze, leading to a third wave.
In this context, animal memes have become a top trend, and the return of abstract art has also brought new speculative potential for memes.
New Godfather Murad Believes Meme Coins Are in a Super Cycle
Murad gained fame from his speech at the TOKEN2049 conference, where he introduced the concept of a meme coin super cycle. He pointed out that meme coins are stealing meme attributes and speculative premiums from value coins, and he believes that people in the market are gradually realizing that meme coins are disrupting VC coins and all altcoins.
During the conference, he boldly predicted that Bitcoin would reach $10 million and shared on his X account that the market is in a meme coin super cycle, stating that "2025 will be a year of parabolic growth for meme coins."

He noted, "Any crypto asset that does not allocate cash flow to your wallet or does not serve as a store of value is essentially a meme coin; 99.999% of altcoins are just meme coins with more steps."
Murad Boosts Cult Meme, Becomes the 'Jesus' of Meme Coins
From June 25 to September 13, Murad gradually filled a list of Cult memes that he believes will explode in the upcoming meme super cycle.

This list has become the new trading bible, led by SPX, whose market cap rose from $20 million in July to over $600 million, showcasing the powerful effect of this new godfather's endorsements.
The meme coins on the list share a common trait: they all possess some cult-like qualities, wrapped in absurd, non-mainstream, and abstract elements, often related to popular internet culture, memes, or specific subcultures, referred to as Cult Memecoins.
"Investing in memes is essentially investing in people," Murad believes that Cult will become the next big trend.
Murad argues that the best meme coins have more functionality than almost all altcoins; they provide fun, reduce feelings of loneliness, and foster identity—achieving the goals that DAOs were originally meant to fulfill, bringing resonance, emotional connection, a sense of mission and meaning, entertainment, and happiness, and even promoting charity, storytelling, and legend-building.
His proposed "Price and Faith Index" strategy emphasizes seeking support from passionate communities in undervalued projects, believing that the true value of meme coins lies in the emotional resonance and cultural identity they bring.
