Bitcoin2024 concluded successfully in Nashville, USA, attracting global attention to the Web3 industry due to the attendance of Donald Trump. This has also increased everyone's focus on the Web3 events worth looking forward to in August.

Interestingly, in Eastern culture, "888" sounds like "prosperity" and the number 8 has always been considered auspicious. Multiple cryptocurrency summits in August are concentrated in Asia, while the Western world has temporarily entered a period of rest after the intensive events in July. Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Taiwan, Shenzhen, and Japan will host a series of heavyweight blockchain events this month. Foresight News presents the "Event Guide" to explore this Web3 summer in Asia!

FORESIGHT 2024

This summit, jointly organized by Foresight Ventures, Foresight News, and The Block, is the first to be co-hosted by the most influential Chinese and English media platforms in the blockchain field. It aims to facilitate in-depth dialogue within the global Web3 community and will be held in the international financial center of Hong Kong, embodying the core concept of "connecting the East and the West, and bridging geographical differences."

As the gateway to Web3 in Asia and a hub for blockchain exchanges between the East and the West, the strategic position of Hong Kong is self-evident. In this bullish market full of opportunities, the two-day FORESIGHT 2024 summit will delve into hot topics such as the two major ETFs introduced this year, the Hong Kong cryptocurrency market, AI and Web3, Bitcoin and L2, and ZK technology.

The summit will bring together a group of Web3 industry "big names," including Patrick Pan, Chairman and CEO of OSL, Pacman, Co-founder of Blur and Blast, Anurag Arjun, Founder of Avail, Steve Yun, Chairman of TON Foundation, Mo Shaikh, Co-founder and CEO of Aptos, Rushi Manche, Co-founder of Movement Labs, and Rok Kopp, Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of ether.fi, who have confirmed their attendance. India Blockchain Tour

Highlights: The "India Blockchain Tour" is a series of blockchain events organized by Octaloop, a blockchain consulting and marketing company in India. This year marks the third edition of the event. The tour will be held in 6 cities in India, with a focus on the concept of "the event comes to you, not the other way around." The remaining 3 events in August include the Mumbai session on August 3, the Bangalore session on August 10, and the Chennai session on August 24. Speakers include Aishwary Gupta from Polygon Labs, Om Malviya from Tezos India, and representatives from local blockchain projects in India.

Recently, the Indian cryptocurrency exchange platform WazirX was hit by a cyber attack in July, resulting in the theft of over $230 million worth of cryptocurrency assets. Therefore, security-related topics will attract the attention of participants. In terms of policy, the Indian government also plans to release a discussion paper on cryptocurrency policy before September. The current cryptocurrency tax policies in India, which require a 1% tax deduction at the source (TDS) for cryptocurrency transactions, are highly controversial. The main demand of the Indian cryptocurrency industry is to reduce this tax from 1% to 0.01%. However, the Indian Finance Minister recently announced in the budget speech to maintain the cryptocurrency tax rules unchanged. Therefore, cryptocurrency taxation is expected to be a hot topic in Indian blockchain events.
