$BLAST Tokenomics has been released, with an expected supply of 1 billion coins and 10 trillion points. How much are they worth?
This is a tweet about the Blast FDV situation, coin valuation, and airdrop estimate, but why aren't we talking about witches?
Recap, today, Blast announced a total supply of 100 billion. 17% of which is used for the S1 airdrop: 7% for coins, 7% for points, and 3% for Blur farmers.
Therefore, all coins can receive 7 billion Blast tokens, and all points can receive 7 billion Blast tokens.
We don't have official supply figures for points and coins, but some estimate the coin supply to be around 80-100 million (considering referrals).
In a pessimistic scenario, let's assume the coin supply is 100 million.
Coins
Based on a total supply of 100 million coins, each coin is equivalent to 70 $BLAST.
(7,000,000,000 airdrop / 100,000,000 total coin supply) = 70 $BLAST per coin.
Now, what about the points?
Points
Blast's own website shows the relationship between coins and points.
"20,483 coins will receive the same amount of airdrop as 2,224,255,462 points."
This means 1 coin = 108,590 points.
If we take a total of 100 million coins, we can estimate the total points supply → 10,859,000,000,000 (10.8 trillion points).
Remember, points receive 7 billion tokens, so approximately 0.00064463 $BLAST = 1 point.
100,000 points = 64.46 $BLAST
$BLAST
Now we (pessimistically) estimate:
1 coin = 70 $BLAST
100,000 points = 65 $BLAST
So, how much is Blast worth?
$BLAST Price Situation
Comparing the FDV situation with top Ethereum L2, we can see that if Blast outperforms all top Ethereum L2 at 10 billion FDV, the token price will be $0.10.
Arbitrum is the largest L2, with the most TVL and the largest FDV. If Blast has the same FDV, the token price will be $0.083.
Optimism follows closely, not because of TVL (6.78 billion), but because of its FDV of 76 billion. If Blast's FDV is the same as Optimism, the token price will be $0.076.
Blast Coin Airdrop Price Situation 1
Bullish price → 100 coins = $700
Neutral price → 100 coins = $350
Pessimistic price → 100 coins = $140
Blast Coin Airdrop Price Situation 2
Bullish price → 10 million points = $650
Neutral price → 100 coins = $325
Pessimistic price → 100 coins = $130
Remember, this is just for fun, we are speculating repeatedly on the price situation.
We are not sure of the total coin supply (the basis of this topic);
We do not know how the market will price Blast against competitors;
We do not know if the relationship between coins and points is up to date, nor if the total points supply is normal;
We do not know if the distribution of $BLAST for each point/coin will be linear (although I assume/believe it will be).
Here's my take on the airdrop
Overall (excluding unfortunate market conditions), I think this airdrop is executed very well. No talk of witches. Smaller wallets and users are able to participate through coins.
We don't talk about witches because the speculators must invest real work (gold) or real funds (points). If tomorrow's release goes smoothly, I think it will be a success.
