1) First of all, one of the most powerful criteria is "depositing liquidity into DeFi protocols." This amplifier has increased thousands of ZK tokens.
Therefore, on November 19, 2023, the TVL of the zkSync Era network unexpectedly increased by $44 million (from $106 million to $150 million). Then, in the following 3 months, it only increased by $17 million. On January 9, 2024, the TVL decreased by $40 million ($167 million to $127 million). Is this just a coincidence?
2) Another accusation about the airdrop is that wallets with no transactions also meet the airdrop criteria. There are a total of 12,725 such wallets. Some of them meet ridiculous criteria, such as "owning a fat penguin or Milady Maker NFT" and "claiming the BONSAI Season 1 airdrop," while some wallets are completely empty with no transactions (0x65f8dfc419b418ae82f289059d038428d038cd9a).
3) Lastly, "decentralization." ZKsync frequently mentions "community" and "decentralization." However, 71,538 wallets received 15.6% of the total token supply (17.5% in total allocated for the airdrop). In other words, the airdrop lacks decentralization. A large amount of tokens will be held by a small group of people.
Furthermore, the token distribution is also very strange. The exchange address Bybit received 52,816 tokens, and Orbiter Finance received 5,151 tokens. While some larger projects in the ecosystem like WOOFi, Element NFT Marketplace, zkApes, Rollup.Finance, zkPEPE did not receive token allocations.
zkSync had enough time to conduct high-quality wallet checks, but they decided to do things their own way, even rejecting Nansen's help. The most anticipated project in the past two years has performed worse than startups that received no investment.
Some people spread rumors that certain KOLs received a large number of airdrops, but the author stated that they have been involved since the first testnet and only received 1,155 tokens. In over 50 long tweets, the author was invited to participate in the ZK Success program, with the main reward being a role (no actual reward).
In this situation, the best solution is to reschedule the airdrop and revise all airdrop lists to thoroughly correct all errors. In addition, the team should address all issues directly. What are these wallets with no trading activity on zkSync? Who deposited $40 million into the network? @gluk64 (zkSync founder), how many eligible wallets does he have?
