Today, I had the privilege of chatting with Boss Wu Jihang for a while and asked about a topic that everyone is concerned about: What is the current situation of the shutdown price for #BTC miners? Before discussing the content of the mining circle, I could feel that Boss Wu is a very shy person, but when it comes to mining data, you can clearly see the light in his eyes, and he becomes visibly excited. This might be what passion looks like.
Back to the point, I can't say that Boss Wu's words are 100% accurate, but I can provide a reference for everyone. Currently, the liquidity in the mining circle is top-down. First-hand miners are mainly circulated to countries such as Europe and the United States, where the government and regulations are the most stable, but the electricity cost is relatively high. If we calculate based on an electricity cost of 5 or 6 cents, a 30-joule miner will reach the shutdown point at around $60,000.
Of course, reaching the shutdown point doesn't necessarily mean the miners will be shut down. More importantly, according to Boss Wu's estimation of the current market's miners, miners within this range account for approximately 50% of the current circulating total. In other words, if all of them are in regions with higher electricity prices in Europe and the United States, half of the miners will not be profitable at $60,000.
However, as mentioned earlier, the liquidity of miners is top-down. Miners phased out in Europe and the United States will flow into regions like Russia, the Middle East, and then possibly into Africa. Starting from the Middle East, some mining farms may not have the "electricity cost" as a factor, so even relatively old miners can continue to operate.
Additionally, Boss Wu also provided some information: After #BTC's halving, mining revenue will be halved, but the difficulty will only increase by 10%.
