Wyoming, USA, June 26, 2025 – VP.NET™ (Verified Privacy Network) today launched the first consumer virtual private network that is cryptographically incapable of inspecting or logging user traffic. Sessions run inside Intel® Software Guard Extensions (SGX) secure enclaves, tamper-resistant hardware zones that even system administrators cannot access. Each client performs live attestation before the first packet is exchanged, so users never need to trust the operator.

The project brings together early cypherpunk figures Andrew Lee (founder of Private Internet Access), Mark Karpeles (former Mt. Gox CEO), Roger Ver (founder of Bitcoin.com known as “Bitcoin Jesus”), and media entrepreneur Matt Kim (The Matt Kim Podcast). The multibillion dollar consumer VPN market has relied on unverified promises, for years, instead of technical guarantees.

“Legacy consumer VPN had its moment, but let’s be clear: handing your entire internet traffic to some random company and hoping they’re not shady is absurd,” said Andrew Lee, Chairman of VP.NET. “We built VP.NET with hardware-guaranteed privacy, so you receive verifiable privacy by design rather than marketing claims.”

Architecture in Brief
VP.NET combines encrypted tunnels with SGX enclaves, sealing decrypted data completely away from operators. Traffic is mixed, batched, and obfuscated to frustrate timing analysis, and every connection begins with a cryptographic proof that the expected server software is running. Because operators do not have access to the SGX enclaves, no logs exist to subpoena or monetize. The company chose to incorporate in the United States, citing transparent court oversight compared with opaque offshore jurisdictions.

“We’re the most transparent VPN in the world,” said Mark Karpeles, CTO of VP.NET. “Any change we make to the backend will immediately be detected, publicly, by our client software. We’re incapable of creating secret backdoors.”

Addressing a Stagnant Market
Industry analysts estimate that consumer VPNs generate billions of dollars each year, yet most services still depend on a “trust us” model. Zero trust architecture, already proven in cryptocurrencies, is long overdue in privacy services.

“Bitcoin removed banks from the trust equation. VP.NET applies the same principle to internet routing and privacy,” said Roger Ver.

“We’re not going to convince you with words and fluff, verify things yourself and watch us,” added Matt Kim, CEO of VP.NET. “We’re the first, and only, VPN that can prove it.”

About VP.NET™
Founded in 2025 and headquartered in Wyoming by Cypherpunks, VP.NET™ replaces “trust me” privacy with verifiable privacy. By embedding hardware attestation, cryptographic guarantees, and transparent auditability into everyday internet access, the company’s patent pending platform keeps user data unreadable and un-loggable.
