Two people tear apart, the "brotherhood" has broken…

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly publicly criticized the Trump administration's massive spending bill, and now it seems that his "brotherhood" with President Trump has deteriorated to the point where they can no longer even pretend to be on good terms.
On Thursday, June 5, Eastern Time, this pair of "good brothers" publicly erupted in a war of words over the Republican tax cuts and spending bill. First, Trump expressed his disappointment with Musk during a press conference at the White House, stating that Musk, who understands the contents of the bill better than anyone else, suddenly turned against it. Musk quickly retaliated on social media, claiming Trump was lying and that he had never seen the bill, asserting that there was only one way to cut spending.
According to CCTV News, Trump stated that he would prefer Musk to criticize him rather than his tax reform bill. Trump claimed that Musk was unhappy with the Trump administration's repeal of the electric vehicle "mandate." He understood the internal workings of the bill and had no objections until he realized the mandate for electric vehicles was being repealed.
Trump said:
"I am very disappointed in Elon. I have helped him a lot. He understands the internal workings of this bill better than anyone else in the room. He had no objections to it. Suddenly, he has an opinion, and it was only when he found out we were going to repeal the electric vehicle mandate that he started to have these thoughts."
Later, Trump posted on social media that it was he who suggested Musk leave the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE), stating that Musk went "crazy" over the repeal of the so-called mandate to purchase electric vehicles. The post read:
"Elon has 'become unbearable,' I asked him to leave, I canceled his electric vehicle mandate, which forced everyone to buy electric vehicles that no one wanted (he knew I would do this months ago!), and he went crazy!"
Trump also hinted at possibly terminating government contracts with Musk's companies. In his post, he said:
"The easiest way to save billions in our budget is to terminate Musk's government subsidies and contracts. I have always been surprised that Biden hasn't done this!"
Musk was not to be outdone and directly posted explosive allegations on social media, claiming Trump was implicated in the Epstein sex crime case, which is the real reason the U.S. government has not released the Epstein files.
Musk's post on his social media account stated:
"It's time to drop a bombshell: @realDonaldTrump appears in the Epstein files. This is the real reason these files have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
Musk then posted that he would mark this post, and the truth would come out in the future.
Musk later stated that given Trump's claim to cancel his government contracts, SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft would immediately begin to disengage from government missions. He also posted that Trump's tariffs would lead to a recession in the U.S. economy in the second half of the year.
According to CCTV, Musk subsequently publicly stated on social media that he believed Trump should be impeached, replying "yes" to a post supporting Trump's impeachment.
Trump: Musk is angry because we targeted electric vehicles; without Musk, I would still win Pennsylvania in the election
According to Trump's statements to reporters, Musk's "betrayal" is because he believes the spending bill known as the "Big Beautiful Bill" harms the interests of the electric vehicle industry where Tesla operates.
Trump stated that his support for the bill was correct, and he would prefer Musk to condemn him personally rather than criticize the bill he supports. Musk's reaction to the bill surprised him. He could understand Musk's anger because the Trump administration was set to repeal the electric vehicle tax credit policy established during former President Biden's term.
"Elon is angry because we got rid of the electric vehicle mandate, which is a huge amount of money for electric vehicles. They are struggling with electric vehicles and still want us to pay billions in subsidies. Elon has known this from the beginning."
Trump said that he and Musk had a good relationship in the past. Musk had strongly supported him during last year's U.S. election, "but I will win regardless."
According to CCTV, Trump stated that even without Musk, he could win the votes in Pennsylvania. Trump also mentioned that Musk has not said anything bad about him personally, but he believes that will change soon.
CCTV reported that the Trump administration withdrew its nomination of Isaacman, whom Musk recommended for the position of NASA Administrator.
Media reports on Wednesday revealed that the White House vetoed Isaacman's nomination, escalating tensions between Musk and Trump. After Musk criticized the Big Beautiful Bill, Trump lost patience with him, while Musk was upset about Trump's decision to withdraw Isaacman's nomination. Musk is a close ally of Isaacman and had previously supported him for the position.
The media cited a senior White House official stating that Trump was unhappy with Musk's criticism and did not understand why Musk decided to ramp up his criticism after working closely with him for four months. Trump's senior advisors were caught off guard by Musk's latest offensive.
Musk: The bill was never shown to me; even if cutting electric vehicle incentives is unfair, it should be "slim and beautiful"; without me, Trump wouldn't win the election
Just as Trump's statements were released, Musk quickly responded with a series of posts on his social media.
In response to Trump's claim that Musk was angry about the bill due to electric vehicle interests, Musk simply replied at the beginning of his post: "Whatever (you do)."
He then stated in the post:
"The bill retains provisions to cut electric vehicle and solar tax incentives, and even if we don't touch oil and gas subsidies (very unfair!!), we should throw away that pile of disgusting private goods in the bill.
Throughout the history of civilization, there has never been a piece of legislation that is both big and beautiful. This is well known! You either get a 'big and ugly' bill or a 'slim and beautiful' bill. Slim and beautiful is the way out."
Musk then responded to Trump's assertion that he had previously understood the bill and had no objections, posting:
"False, this bill has never been shown to me even once, and it was passed quickly in the middle of the night, with almost no members of Congress able to read it!"
Musk retweeted a post from Senator Rand Paul, who had been warned by Trump for opposing the bill.
Paul posted that Musk hit the nail on the head, as his report released last year revealed that in just one year, 2024, Americans' interest payments would reach $892 billion, which amounts to 10% of the federal government's budget. When Musk retweeted this post, he wrote that the big and ugly bill would make the situation worse.
Musk also retweeted a comment agreeing with Trump's view that he wouldn't win the election without his support.
The comment stated that Musk said, "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, the Democrats would control the Senate, and the Republicans' seats in the Senate would be 51 to 49," which was indeed correct.
Musk retweeted a post summarizing his statements from an interview, reiterating that the Big Beautiful Bill would expand the U.S. federal deficit to $2.5 trillion. The interview content showed that Musk stated the U.S. has a $2 trillion deficit, which is continuously increasing, and that spending on interest payments has already exceeded the Department of Defense's budget. Wall Street News mentioned that on Tuesday, when Musk publicly severed ties, he stated that the bill would cause the already huge budget deficit to surge to $2.5 trillion.
On Wednesday, Musk posted a call for the American public to contact their congressional representatives to "veto" the bill, attaching a still from the movie "Kill Bill." On Thursday, he posted again urging: "Kill the bill."
