I believe NIGHT could have a generational run - and here’s why I keep talking about Midnight. As more activity moves on-chain, privacy becomes essential. Who wants their salary, business records, customer data, or financial activity visible to everyone? Midnight is designed to let applications protect sensitive information while proving only what needs to be verified. That could make privacy practical for payments, identity, and financial applications - not by hiding everything, but by revealing only what a transaction or service actually requires. Consider the potential use cases: A payroll or payments app could verify that someone is eligible to receive funds without exposing their salary, account balance, or complete transaction history. A lending platform could confirm income, creditworthiness, or collateral without putting a user’s entire financial profile on a public ledger. A business could issue credentials proving that a customer passed compliance checks without publishing personal documents or sensitive company data. A healthcare or insurance application could verify eligibility or claims while keeping medical records private. A game or consumer app could use on-chain ownership and rewards without forcing users to expose every asset, interaction, or identity-linked transaction. That privacy model could be a major adoption driver. Public blockchains are powerful for transparency, but full transparency is often a deal-breaker for institutions, businesses, and ordinary users. If Midnight can give them the benefits of verifiable blockchain applications without requiring them to broadcast sensitive information, it could expand the market beyond crypto-native users. The token mechanics add another layer: NIGHT generates DUST, the resource used for transactions on Midnight. That gives builders and users a reason to hold NIGHT beyond speculation, while making the network’s economics connected to actual application activity. Execution is still the key. Midnight needs developers, useful applications, reliable infrastructure, and real users. But if it can become the privacy layer for payments, identity, finance, and business applications, the upside could be significant. That’s why I think NIGHT could pull a ZEC over a full cycle. I’m not just looking at a token narrative - I’m looking at what Midnight could become if privacy becomes a requirement for mainstream on-chain adoption. Midnight sponsors my show, but my interest in the project began before the sponsorship.
