[Ignas: Tokenomics Innovation Is Not 'Dead,' the Crypto Industry Is Experimenting with New Mechanisms Again]
Deep Tide TechFlow News, September 29 – DeFi researcher Ignas published an article stating that he was initially concerned that innovation in tokenomics had stagnated, but that is not the case. After a cycle of low-circulation, high-FDV token launches, the crypto industry is now experimenting with new token mechanisms, such as:
1. ZCAT provides ZEC rewards to holders through a 3% transaction tax.
2. BUN/Mosh uses a 'Bundle Launch' mechanism, allowing fund supporters to share transaction fees but preventing them from withdrawing LP.
3. STONK allocates fee revenue to market cap-weighted buybacks and burns of the top 15 compliant tokens.
4. VVV/DIEM allows staking VVV to mint DIEM, and further staking DIEM to gain daily AI quotas.
5. ORBIO converts transaction fees into AI quotas for stakers.
6. BP requires staking for at least one year to qualify for future IPO equity conversion, with token supply unlocks tied to project growth milestones.
Ignas believes that the commonality among these projects is the attempt to make tokens more than just fundraising tools, aiming to imbue them with real value. However, he also cautions the community that many mechanisms still rely on speculators' continued trading, as 'speculation' remains dominant in the crypto market.
