[Morgan Stanley: Fed Rate Hikes May Be Lower Than Market Expectations]
Odaily Planet Daily News - Morgan Stanley's rate strategists stated in a report that after the Federal Reserve's rate hike in September, it is expected to raise rates again in December and next March. However, current market pricing indicates a more aggressive rate hike trajectory over the next year. The strategists pointed out that uncertainties surrounding the Fed, economic growth, corporate bond issuance, and oil price trends are driving expectations for further tightening of monetary policy over the next 12 months. Nevertheless, Morgan Stanley believes the actual degree of tightening by the Fed will fall short of market expectations, as key factors influencing the Fed's policy path will only become clearer later this year. According to data from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), the money market currently anticipates a cumulative 100 basis points of rate hikes by the Fed over the next 12 months. (Jin10)
