According to the CTO office of the U.S. Department of War, the department has launched Starshield AI's Grok for Government on its generative AI platform GenAI.mil. This version has been approved for use in controlled unclassified information (CUI) environments at Impact Level 5 (IL5). It will provide military personnel with features such as deep reasoning, adaptive reasoning modes, customized workspaces, persistent projects, and reusable 'operation manuals,' applicable to scenarios like procurement market research and supply chain management. Since its launch 9 months ago, GenAI.mil has attracted over 1.7 million independent users, accounting for more than half of the Department of War's 3 million personnel. The department stated that the introduction of Grok aims to expand the selection of cutting-edge AI tools, avoid vendor lock-in, and promote the development of the U.S. AI ecosystem.
