**[Microsoft-Related Data Center Bond Issuance May Expand to $3.9 Billion]**
BlockBeats News, August 18, according to Bloomberg, a $3.9 billion bond issuance related to Microsoft Corporation has attracted over $8 billion in investor demand, prompting the issuer to increase the transaction size by approximately $1 billion from the initial target. The bond will be issued through a subsidiary of QTS Realty Trust LLC, backed by Blackstone, to finance a data center project in Georgia, USA.
The debt is expected to be issued by two special-purpose liability subsidiaries under QTS's QualityTech LP. The coupon rate for the bond is anticipated to be around the high 6% range, while it will be issued at a discount, bringing the effective yield to the early-to-mid 7% range. Although the bond is expected to receive an investment-grade rating, its yield level is comparable to single-B-rated junk bonds.
Last week, Citi, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Morgan Stanley held conference calls with investors to introduce the bond issuance. These banks are underwriting the transaction, and the bond has been marketed to the market for several consecutive days. The bond deal could be priced as early as Tuesday, but discussions are still ongoing, and the final issuance plan may be subject to change.
