Unbelievable: The stablecoin card issuer Kulipa, headquartered in Paris, announced a $6.2M seed round in early April (led by 1kx), and then suddenly shut down four months later... About 20 wallets or crypto companies relied on Kulipa to provide U card services, and overnight, all these cards became unusable, including U cards issued by Ready and Solflare.
After Kulipa announced its funding in April, it seems like their Twitter activity dropped off, and then out of nowhere, they hit everyone with this surprise...
The silver lining in this bad news is that, fortunately, the funds on these U cards were self-custodied. Since the cards only pulled funds during transactions, there were no customer balances stored with Kulipa, so at least that's some relief.
