The victim has reached out to me a few times about this. The first time, I felt there might be something fishy going on. Based on my understanding of exchanges, the likelihood of 'misappropriation' is pretty low, especially since Pionex @pionex and GMGN have a transparent relationship, and reputation is still quite important. After reading the full story and the back-and-forth disclosures, it seems like the original author, Willam, might indeed have been involved in a multi-KYC issue. This is a problem that many people often encounter. Back when exchanges had stricter registration restrictions, people would use workarounds, which planted the seeds for future trouble. Now, even if the exchange claims the account has a KYC issue, the actual account holder is put in a very passive position. However, the author has already reported this to the local police and obtained a police report receipt. Plus, the original KYC holder is actively cooperating in communication, so Pionex really should pay more attention to this matter. At this point, I can’t determine whether Willam is truly the victim or if the account has a KYC issue. But since Willam has already filed a police report, Pionex could cooperate with the police for further investigation. If it’s true that there’s been no response for two weeks, that’s definitely not acceptable.
