EOD recap - 21 Jul 26
The strongest price action seen in NY session with neoclouds and memory being bidded right off the bat. The shortage of compute is finally getting recognised.
In Neos, price action was led by NBIS, up almost 20% with rest of the names up ~10%. Memory we saw a strong rebound in SNDK (up 16%) vs MU (up 13%). SNDK has more room to cover, given the fall was much sharper there. Also SKHY was up 14%. I believe that SKHY is shaping up for a gigantic play over the next 2 months.
Strong rebound seen in nuclear names as well, led by XE and OKLO. XE in particular is interesting because of it plumbing the lows at 13, almost half of its IPO price. Given its strong balance sheet and AMZN backlog, i think this is a much better runner vs OKLO should we start going down the bottleneck.
Instead of memory leading, i strongly believe that this is neocloud summer. I have been saying it for the last few weeks - alongside with my thesis on why neos are the best fundamental bets and why NOW. (read my past posts)
On http://terminal.gambit.zone, you can also now take a look at the various preset watchlists with the respective heatmaps to assess how the market is moving. (Take a look)
I will just take some time to again reiterate why its so important to have your own conviction. You can read my thesis, you can see the same facts as me. However, unless you do the required reading and due diligence, when turmoil hits - you will never be able to react appropriately. I have seen so many people who were bullish who then turned bearish near the lows. Not only did some cut their entire position, but others even shorted. For those who follow flows - flows is not momentum trading. Trading flows is understanding pre-emptively how other market participants might react, how much gamma is in the market and market structure. If your entire thesis is that, markets are efficient - and hence if price goes down, i should be shorting - then all you are doing is trading momentum. Again, if you truly believe markets are efficient - then why are you even trading?
Finally, i also talked about this before - its more important how much you make when you are right and how much you lose when you are wrong. Then absolute win/loss ratio or risk reward ratios by themsevles in insolation.
Alright - 1 more trading session before GOOG earnings!
Enjoy the rest of the day.(degentrading)
