To be honest, the longer it consolidates around 60K, the more panicked I feel—because I’m in cash, and I’m scared of missing out! There were countless nights when I reflected on whether staying in cash around 60K was the right move. Then I’d dig through all kinds of data to strengthen my confidence, repeatedly reminding myself to hold on and wait for the big opportunity! In the later stages of a bear market, the hardest part is never the drop—it’s the waiting. When the market drops, it’s actually pretty straightforward: if it goes up, you’re happy; if it goes down, you’re upset. At least the direction is clear. What’s truly torturous is this kind of phase we’re in now. You think the market might have bottomed, but it just won’t go up. You feel like the opportunity is near, but it refuses to confirm. Every day, I check the charts, and it always feels like it’s just a little off. So I start to feel anxious, start to doubt, and begin searching for new answers. The most painful part is knowing the cycle is likely in its later stages, but having no idea how much longer you’ll have to wait. And waiting is precisely what most people are worst at. Every cycle is the same: at the top, everyone is trading; at the bottom, the ones truly making money are the ones waiting. Waiting for emotions to clear out. Waiting for capital to flow back in. Waiting for trend confirmation. And waiting for the market to exhaust the last bit of patience. Opportunities never belong to the smartest people—they belong to those who can stay at the table in the dark. The biggest test in the later stages of a bear market isn’t technical—it’s mental. When everyone starts doubting, can you still trust your judgment? When the market gives no answers, can you still stay patient? And this often determines whether, when the next bull market arrives, you’ll be a participant or just a spectator. That’s why I keep telling myself to hold on, wait for the big opportunity, and not act rashly. As long as I have ammo, I’m not afraid of missing the chance to get on board. I just hope this cycle gives me one more perfect bottoming-out moment—that might be my real shot at a comeback!
