According to EToday, the number of new listings on South Korea's domestic crypto exchanges significantly slowed in the first half of the year, while delistings of low-liquidity and problematic tokens increased. EToday analyzed data from the five major exchanges—Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax—and reported that the net increase in trading support (new listings minus delistings) was 49 this year, a 74% drop compared to 191 during the same period last year. The number of new trading supports decreased by 44% year-over-year, while the number of delistings surged by 258%. The report noted that as trading volumes decline and fee revenues come under pressure, the focus of competition among South Korean exchanges is shifting from listing expansions to liquidity management, token reviews, and adapting to institutional regulations.
