If over the next 10 years, employers were able to migrate to exclusively Direct Contracts, not only could they significantly reduce premiums and probably eliminate patient out of pocket costs, providers and doctors would make more money. Why ? Because it would eliminate all the friction and costs that insurance carriers and their hundreds or thousands of subsidiaries introduce.
