[Data Shows Nearly 20% of Ships Passing Through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday Linked to Iran Sanctions] Golden Finance reports that on June 24, according to shipping tracking data, nearly one-fifth of the commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday were sanctioned ships involved in transporting Iranian oil. Maritime analytics firm Kpler's data indicates that out of the 48 confirmed vessels crossing the strait, 9 had previously been sanctioned for participating in the transportation of energy for Iran, Russia, and Venezuela. Among them was the bulk carrier Warta, flying the Iranian flag, which was tracked entering the Persian Gulf. Kpler stated that two other identified vessels were the crude oil tankers Asha and Lumina Ocean, flying the Curaçao flag, navigating along the northern side of the strait on the so-called "Iranian route." On Monday, another Curaçao-flagged tanker, Titan, and a Botswana-flagged tanker, Vigor, also exited the strait.
