Another gold robbery case has occurred in Hong Kong: 6 kilograms of gold were stolen, with a value of approximately HKD 7 million On June 18th, according to the Sing Tao Daily, another gold robbery occurred in Hong Kong. A 36 year old man reported on the first floor of Parking Lot 3 at Hong Kong International Airport that he was stabbed in the hands and feet and robbed of a backpack containing 6 gold bars weighing 6 kilograms, with a total value of approximately HKD 7 million. The Hong Kong police disclosed the above information on the same day. In the past year or so, Hong Kong has experienced multiple large-scale cash robberies involving gold or related gold transactions: 1. In September 2025, more than ten people broke into a gold factory located in a factory building in Hung Hom and looted about 65 kilograms of gold bars and gold powder, with a market value of approximately HKD 59 million. 2. On December 18, 2025, two employees from a Japanese company were robbed by three knife wielding robbers while disembarking near a currency exchange shop in Sheung Wan with 1 billion yen in cash. 3. On March 20, 2026, 73 kilograms of gold bars with a market value of approximately HKD 100 million were stolen from a gold shop on Chung On Street in Hung Hom.
