US judge rejects xAI's lawsuit accusing OpenAI of stealing trade secrets A federal judge in the United States dismissed a lawsuit filed by Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI against its competitor OpenAI on Monday. The lawsuit accuses OpenAI of stealing trade secrets. Judge Rita Lin of the Federal District Court in San Francisco, California, stated that xAI failed to prove that OpenAI induced former xAI engineer Xuechen Li to embezzle trade secrets, nor did she prove that he disclosed xAI's trade secrets during OpenAI's recruitment demonstration. The judge stated that allowing xAI to continue the lawsuit would be 'futile'. She had previously rejected an early version of the lawsuit in February of this year.
