CFTC Chairman Appoints Data Innovation Officer and Senior Advisor to Strengthen Innovation and Compliance Supervision CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig announced the appointment of Donald Battle as Chief Data Innovation Officer and J Matthew Haws as Senior Advisor to the Chairman's Office and Head of the Chicago Region. Battle will serve in the Data Division and Innovation Working Group. He has previously served as a senior advisor to the Crypto Task Force and assistant director of the Data Science Group at the SEC, responsible for long-term blockchain forensics, large-scale dataset analysis, and anti money laundering related law enforcement. Haws has over 13 years of experience in derivatives market compliance and enforcement, having previously served as a senior legal advisor at Marex and a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. He will be responsible for regulatory and market compliance affairs in the Chicago office.
