At the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Montenegro, I reaffirmed Lithuania’s strong support for the region’s EU path.
Enlargement must stay merit-based, anchored in reforms, the rule of law, and full alignment with EU values and the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
The Western Balkans is part of Europe’s future. We must strengthen resilience and security as Russia intensifies disinformation and hybrid pressure on the region.
Reducing strategic dependencies and strengthening investment screening are essential for long-term stability.
The EU remains the region’s key partner on its path toward gradual integration.(Gitanas Nausėda)
