[State Administration of Foreign Exchange: China's External Securities Investment Assets (Excluding Reserve Assets) at $1.9875 Trillion] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 5, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange released data on China's external securities investment assets by country/region and by resident holder sectors as of the end of 2025. Statistics show that as of the end of 2025, China's external securities investment assets (excluding reserve assets) amounted to $1.9875 trillion. Among these, equity investments accounted for $1.2628 trillion, and bond investments accounted for $724.7 billion. The top five countries/regions in terms of asset distribution were Hong Kong (China), the United States, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and the United Kingdom, with investment amounts of $978.9 billion, $364 billion, $145.1 billion, $65.2 billion, and $48.5 billion, respectively. As of the end of 2025, the main sectors holding China's external securities assets were non-bank financial institutions, banks, and non-financial sectors, with investment amounts of $1.1087 trillion, $566.7 billion, and $312.1 billion, accounting for 56%, 29%, and 16% of China's total external securities investment, respectively.
